What are Armco fixings?
Armco safety barriers are comprised of a steel beams and posts, but secured together with our expertly manufactured fixings, which ensure the materials stay connected and sturdy.
Our Armco fixings are manufactured in the UK, specially designed for our quality products. In a manner, they are the most important component of our safety barrier materials, as without them the beam and post can’t be anchored, and the barrier will be incapable of stopping accidents.
Fix Armco posts securely and and you will maximise the safety of your environment, leading to fewer maintenance costs, repairs, and a more efficient and productive operation altogether.
How do Armco fixings work?
Armco fixings work by anchoring guardrails to the ground, providing stability and strength to withstand impacts. They include nuts, bolts and washers.
Armco guardrails are mounted on posts which are driven into the ground or set in concrete, with the fixers preventing the rails from moving. If a vehicle collides with the guardrail, the fixings absorb and distribute the impact force, reducing the damage caused.
They can also be used to define walkways, and work zones, or to create structure to a working environment.
Armco fixings are made from durable, weather-resistant materials like galvanised steel to ensure long-lasting performance and safety.
Which Armco fixings do you need?
Anchor bolts
Anchor bolts provide a stable foundation for the guardrail system, and are typically embedded in concrete. They are effective in areas where you need to protect against potential significant forces.
Lap bolts
Lap bolts join overlapping sections of guardrails together, creating a continuous, unbroken barrier. This is necessary for areas where you need a curved Armco barrier, such as warehouse areas where a curved protector is required.
Bolt caps
Bolt caps cover the exposed end of bolts used in Armco fixings, protecting the bolts from corrosion and preventing injuries from sharp bolt ends. This is useful in harsh weather conditions, and busy working environments.
Connectors
Connectors link separate sections of Armco guardrails and components together, ensuring a smooth and secure transition between the different guardrail sections. Use the connectors when you need to join Armco components together seamlessly. Large roundabouts are a good example of when these are used.
Post bolts
Post bolts attach the guardrails to the posts, providing a strong and stable connection. These are typically mandatory for Armco barriers, as without them, the guardrails and posts are detached and ineffective.
